Good news for anyone shopping for their next rig: more than 400 used trucks from MHC, the largest Kenworth dealer group in the country, are now live on Trucker To Trucker. Late-model Kenworth T680 sleepers, hard-working T880 day cabs, box trucks and reefers are all here, from dealer lots across the South, Midwest and Mountain West. You can browse them all in one place, from the cab of your truck or the couch at home.
Here's a look at what you'll find, where it's sitting, and how to land the right one.
Who Is MHC?
Murphy-Hoffman Company got its start in 1975 as Ozark Kenworth, with three employees in a temporary office in Springfield, Missouri. Fifty years later, MHC runs more than 130 locations across 19 states, with nearly 5,000 employees and 16 Kenworth Dealer of the Year awards.
That matters when you're buying used. Every truck in these listings comes off the lot of a full-service dealership with its own parts counter and service shop. Many of those shops are open 24/7, with techs certified on PACCAR, Cummins and CAT engines. The people selling the truck also know how to fix it, and they'll still be there after the sale.
MHC also runs an Internet Sales team out of Leawood, Kansas, built for buyers who can't drive three states to kick tires. Find a truck on Trucker To Trucker, and they can walk you through specs, financing and delivery.
What's on the Lot
Kenworth makes up most of the inventory, but you'll also find plenty of other makes. Here's what stood out when we browsed the listings. Prices and mileage are as listed at the time of writing and change as trucks sell.
Kenworth T680 Sleepers: The Heart of the Inventory
If you run over the road, start here. The T680 is the most common truck in the MHC listings by far, mostly 2020 to 2024 models. There's a price for almost every budget:
- High-mileage workhorses: 2020 and 2021 T680s with 600,000 to 750,000 miles, many listed around $43,000 to $49,000 out of Springfield, MO.
- The sweet spot: 2022 and 2023 T680s with 350,000 to 450,000 miles, mostly $65,000 to $85,000.
- Nearly new: 2023 and 2024 trucks with under 300,000 miles, up to about $111,000.
Day Cabs for Regional and Vocational Work
Regional and local haulers have plenty of day cabs to choose from. Denver has a deep run of 2023 Kenworth T880 day cabs in the $85,000 to $93,000 range, plus 2020 T880s around $65,000. You'll also see Peterbilt 579 day cabs, International LT625s and Mack Anthem 64Ts. At the top end, a 2025 T880 day cab in Chattanooga is listed at $154,950.
Something With a Little Chrome
If you want a truck that turns heads at the fuel island, you'll find a few long-hoods worth a look. There's a 2022 Kenworth W900L in Oklahoma City at $124,950, and Kenworth W990s in Cedar Rapids and South Denver. With the classic W900 in its last year of production, clean long-hood Kenworths won't get any easier to find.
Other Makes, Too
MHC sells all makes used, so the listings include 2024 International LT625 sleepers in Springfield (about $80,000 to $90,000), Peterbilt 579 sleepers, Freightliner Cascadias and Volvos.
Box Trucks, Reefers and Medium Duty
Not everyone needs a Class 8. The South Denver store in particular has a strong lineup of medium duty trucks:
- Ford F-550 box trucks around $48,000 to $50,000
- Freightliner M2-106 and International MV607 box trucks from about $38,000
- Isuzu NPR-HD box trucks starting in the low $30,000s
- Refrigerated trucks like a 2021 Hino 338 and a 2023 Kenworth T380
- Work trucks like a 2019 Ford F-250 stake bed in Memphis for $14,950
Where the Trucks Are
The listings come from more than 40 MHC stores, so there's a good chance one is within a day's drive. Each store has its own page on Trucker To Trucker, so you can shop close to home.
- Texas: Dallas, South Dallas, Fort Worth, South Fort Worth, Denton, El Paso, Longview and Texarkana
- Tennessee: Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Jackson and Kingsport
- Georgia: Atlanta, East Atlanta, South Atlanta, Gainesville and Adairsville
- Missouri and Kansas: Kansas City, Olathe, Springfield, Joplin and Columbia
- Arkansas: Little Rock, Springdale, Van Buren and Jonesboro
- Colorado: Denver, South Denver, Greeley and Pueblo
- Oklahoma: Oklahoma City and Tulsa
- Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois: Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Omaha and the Quad Cities
- The Carolinas and Ohio: Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Chillicothe
A few stores tend to have the deepest lots. Springfield, MO, where MHC got its start, is loaded with T680 sleepers. Denver and South Denver carry a wide mix of day cabs and medium duty trucks. Oklahoma City, Springdale and Chattanooga list new trucks often too.
Tips for Shopping the MHC Listings
With 400-plus trucks to choose from, a little strategy goes a long way.
- Filter first. Use the make, year, price, mileage and distance filters to cut the list down to the trucks that fit your work and your budget.
- Compare twins. MHC often lists several trucks of the same year and model, sometimes from the same fleet. Line them up side by side and let mileage and price pick the winner.
- Weigh miles against price. A 2021 T680 with 700,000 miles at around $43,000 and a 2023 with 380,000 miles at around $84,000 can both be smart buys. Which one fits depends on how many miles you run a year and how long you plan to keep it.
- Ask for the history. These trucks come from dealers with full service shops, so ask about maintenance records, recent PM work and any engine or aftertreatment repairs.
- Get it inspected. Even with a dealer behind the sale, an independent inspection is cheap insurance on a five- or six-figure purchase. Our How to Buy a Used Semi Truck guide covers what to check.
- Ask about financing. MHC has its own finance company, MHC Financial Services, so ask about financing when you call.
