William Cunningham founded Transcraft in 1962. Cunningham was an entrepreneur from Anna, Illinois who got his start building trailers for private manufacturers. He first used the Transcraft trademark in 1968 on a heavy-duty flatbed trailer that he built.
Transcraft grew significantly as a company over the 30 years that followed. Cunningham sold the successful company to Lincolnshire Management, Inc. in 1999. This investment firm grew the company even further using dealer incentives. Wabash National, the largest manufacturer of semi-trailers in the United States, bought the company from the investment firm in 2006. Wabash also acquired assets of Benson International in 2008.
Wabash consolidated their acquisitions in 2010 and moved the manufacturing of Transcraft trailers to Cadiz, Kentucky, where the trailers are currently being manufactured in their state-of-the-art facility. The facility includes the most sophisticated painting facility in the industry, with 12,000 square feet of space dedicated to painting trailers.
Transcraft's steel, aluminum and combination flatbed trailers are among the best in the industry. They are built to the highest quality standards in the industry and are designed to stand up to high demands for dependability as well as increased load capacity. Their drop-deck trailers are also manufactured with high-quality steel, aluminum or a combination of the two. These trailers are available in a variety of deck lengths to meet the specific needs of your customers.
Transcraft is also on top of designing and implementing innovative trailers to meet the needs of their specialty customers. Their latest innovative specialty trailer is a coil hauler. It is specifically designed to protect rolled freight from damage as well as reduce unloading and loading times.
Although their trailers are designed more for durability than driver comfort, there are some features that are available on Transcraft trailers to make the driver's job easier.
