Stoughton Trailers was founded more than 55 years ago by Carol and Don Wahlin, as Stoughton Truck Body. The company was named Stoughton because it was located in Stoughton, Wisconsin. They started out manufacturing truck bodies and soon grew to produce van trailers, flatbed trailers, grain trailers and chassis. Stoughton's main trailer assembly plant was built in 1985. The company has built and expanded several production plants since that time.
Stoughton has become one of the largest trailer manufacturers in the United States. Their facilities span over a million square feet of manufacturing space. They also operate a truck part distribution network as well as an independent trucking company under the Stoughton name.
Stoughton van trailers and containers are among the toughest models on the road. They are built to some of the highest standards of quality in the industry. Although their 53 foot trailers are the most common, Stoughton containers are available in many lengths, including 20 ft, 40 ft, 48 ft and 53 ft. Regular and hi-cube heights are available.
Stoughton grain trailers are also well built. Their 40 ft grain hopper trailers are lightweight and will hold over 1100 bushels of grain. They also have superior lighting, including LED lights in the hopper work area.
The amenities available on each Stoughton trailer vary, but they are all built with high-quality materials and are designed to stand the test of time.
