Dominated by the 1,700-square-mile Great Salt Lake, Utah has a unique free port law, which makes Salt Lake City a desirable location for the import and export of goods. Many trucking companies take advantage of this business-friendly climate and base lots of trucks in the area. There are always sleeper trucks, refrigerated trucks, box trucks, and day cab trucks coming and going from Utah truck dealers around Salt Lake City.
Union Pacific and Southern Pacific bring lots of freight traffic through Salt Lake City, too. Which means logistics and freight traffic is everywhere.
