Hyundai was founded in 1947 by Chung Ju-Yung as the Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company. The Hyundai Motor Company wasn't established until 1967. The company manufactured a number of vehicles and kept growing until 1997, when Chung passed away and the East Asian financial crisis hit. At this time, Hyundai's subsidiaries broke up into many separate companies which still bear the Hyundai name. Hyundai Group still manufactures shipping containers and elevators. They are also involved in tourism.
Shipping containers are still the most popular item manufactured by Hyundai. These containers are generally made of strong steel and are available in 5 standard lengths. Standard dimensions is very important when you're manufacturing shipping containers, as these containers are often stacked and loaded close together to fit as much cargo as possible onto each ship.
Dry vans are another popular type of trailer manufactured by Hyundai. The Hyundai HT composite is a common one. This dry van is manufactured with a wood floor and a galvanized rear frame. It is lockable and watertight to keep dry goods as safe as possible from the elements. Several door configurations are available for the Hyundai HT.
Most Hyundai trailers are built simply, with strong materials and careful construction that is designed to last for years. Some of these trailers are available with special features such as auxiliary fuel tanks and LED lighting.
