Which Rig Gets Your Vote for Commercial Truck of the Year?
Trucker of the Year
The nominees for ATD Commercial Truck of the Year have been announced with the big reveal set for January 26, 2014 during the NADA/ATD Convention and Expo in New Orleans. Two new commercial trucks will be crowned king of their class as the best new entry in either the heavy-duty (class 8) or medium-duty (classes 3-7) market.
The decision will be made by a panel of journalists and writers chaired by Tom Berg, senior editor of Heavy Duty Trucking magazine. While we're sure it's a stellar panel the NADA press release says the writers regularly cover the North America commercial truck market for leading industry publications -- they aren't the guys and gals sitting in the cab. At TruckertoTrucker.com, we wondered which trucks would get the nod from the truckers who will actually be driving these new rigs. So here's your chance to weigh in.
This year's nominees combine power, fuel efficiency and functionality with increased driver comfort and sleek styling. The panel is being asked to choose a winner in each category based on innovation, design, driver satisfaction and safety, so give those issues some thought as you consider the 2014 nominees. We've listed the nominees below. (Click here for NADA's photo and summary of each truck's qualifying features.) Check out the contenders and comment on this post to share your choices. You'll be able to see which rigs are getting the most votes from your fellow truckers and follow their comments on our RSS 2.0 feed. It'll be interesting to see if the ATA panel gets it right!
