History of Ford Trucks

Famously founded by Henry Ford, Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903. They are know the second largest automaker based in the United States. The company was founded with money from several investors, including John and Horace Dodge. The Dodges later started their own automotive company. Their original logo was black and white, but they have had the blue and white logo that we know today since 1927.

The Ford Motor Company has been manufacturing trucks since 1908. The first truck they manufactured was called the Ford Model TT. This was followed by the AA and BB models. Ford commercial vehicles have been produced in a variety of countries, including France, Germany, India, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom and Philippines.

Ford Medium-duty and Heavy-Duty Trucks

The Ford Motor Company continues to manufacture F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks. The company partnered with Navistar International in a joint venture to manufacture a variety of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks. This venture is called the Blue Diamond Truck Company LLC. Ford manufactures the Transit jumbo van in Europe. It is classified as a large goods vehicle. The Transit is available in a variety of body styles, including pickup, chassis cab and panel van. A lighter version of the van is also available.
